OPT 1/2 is : fastest time = 1D, plus .5 = 2D, plus 1.=3d, plus 1.5=4D (typically only used small indoor pens)
STANDARD option is :Fastest time = 1D, plus .5= 2D, fastest + 1 sec = 3D, fastest +2 sec = 4D
2D Poles - has a 1 sec split
EARLY BIRD SADDLE SERIES RULES ( consits of the 1st 9 District Races for 2021)
1. no membership required, just a one time $30 nomination fee per horse that you want to earn points on.
2. Points are only earned on entries in the open and horse must be ridden by you.
3. You can nominate more than one horse but points are accumulated on each specific horse.
4. Points are given 6,5,4,3,2,1, every nominated horse gets a minimum of 1 point for eacc open race entered, even if you get a no time,
5. Person/horse, with the most points wins the saddle at the conclusion of the 9th race, if there is a tie, one point per race attended will be added, if that doesn't break the tie we will draw from those that are tied.
DISTRICT SADDLE SERIES RULES ( pts earned Dist race 10 thru Oct races)
1. NBHA membership is required.
2. This series will consist of the last 10 OPEN NBHA ID-03 District races as indicated on the schedule.
3. Previous 2 years NBHA District Saddle winners are ineligible.
4. , Saddle points are only given for your entries in the open.. Points will be accumulated for you,on your designated points horse no matter what division points are earned in.
5. Saddle Points will be given to the top five NBHA members in each division of the OPEN, (5,4,3,2,1)
6. A minimum of 8 out of all District races must be entered as a member to qualify for the saddle. The NBHA member /horse combo with the most Saddle points at the conclusion of the summer series wins the Saddle. (Only ties will be broken by adding 1 extra point for each OPEN race Entered, if still tied, we will draw a winner from those tied.)
7. Saddle will be awarded at the year end District Awards Party.

The Rules below are in addition to the standard NBHA rules which are posted at all races and are available online @ nbha.com / with one exception - starting in 2012 I will be using the same payout percentage structure as Brn4D for the OPEN
NBHA IDAHO DISTRICT 3 AWARDS RULES: (summer NBHA ID-03 District races as shown on schedule)
1. You must be an NBHA member and must participate at a minimum of 8 District races to qualify for District Awards ( or 1/2 the races scheduled for the season)
2. District Awards Points will be given at all NBHA ID-03 District races and accumulate as per standard NBHA rules with the addition that ties will be broken by attendance. A person can win District Awards in numerous divisions.
3. OPEN 4D Class - (any age) OPEN Awards to 5th place
4. YOUTH 4D Class - ( 18 and under) YOUTH awards Will be based on amount of participation throughout the year.
SENIOR 4D, Pee Wees, Novice 4D and 2D Poles - Awards will be given to at least 1st place in each D but not necessarily a buckle. Value of award based on average participation throughout the year and at producers discretion.
5. SENIOR 4D Class - ( 50 and up) ** as of Nov. 2012- District races are now using the official senior age limit to match the majority of all associations.
6. PEE WEE Class - (10 & under and not competing in any other class) If there are 3 or more contestants we will run a Pee Wee class with an entry fee of only $10 no arena fee ( if only entering the pee wee race).this is a straight up race, payout is 50%..
Awards will be based on amount of participation at producers discretion.
7. Novice 4D Class- horse must have won less than $1,000. in it's lifetime, If you are consistanly placing in the 1D of the OPEN you do not qualify to run in the Novice, let's keep the novice a truely novice class please. Novice Awards will also be based on average participation and at race producers discretion.
